The Heart and Soul of My Work
Are you a seeker? Where do you set your sights? To live your best life? To realize you potential? To find work that inspires? To love and be loved in return? To live bravely and dream deeply?
If you are such a seeker, I am a guide. POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY is the heart and soul of my work. Positive Psychology is the study of happiness and well-being. It's a major new area in psychology. In one study it increased well being in 92% of people. I teach it at UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine.
I believe that inside you, me, and all of us is a deep desire to be happy, to realize our potential, not to waste our time, nor squander our gifts.

Testimonials

Dr Drimmer is an inspired, therapist, coach and human being. In my 37 years of training clinicians, John is the best I've ever met.

Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA

I studied with Dr Drimmer when I was a student in medical school. What surprised me most about Dr. Drimmer and Positive Psychology was how a very profound shift could occur so rapidly. The work helped grow joy and meaning. This is not done by ignoring the struggles inherent in life, but by looking inside those experiences. I would highly recommend working with John!

I participated in John Drimmer’s positive psychology group this fall, and eagerly shared with friends that I was enrolled in 'happiness' class. Everyone I told was curious and envious--there's clearly a need for this movement. In class, we learned useful exercises and concepts we could immediately apply to our daily lives. Dr. Drimmer led the group in such a meaningful way I hated to see the class end. The premise behind positive psychology makes sense; it's incredibly powerful. And Dr. Drimmer is a compassionate, wise and eager teacher."

For creative people John Drimmer, is the best therapist or coach I've ever met. He taught me things that helped me in the moment; there were other things he taught me that suddenly bear fruit as I take on bigger and bigger challenges. My position, my income, my personal satisfaction are all enhanced.
